From 2010 to 2016, Equinox Therapeutic worked with the Edmonton Drug Treatment and Community Restoration Court (EDTCRC). EDTCRC offered an opportunity to adults who had been convicted of drug-related offences that were related to their drug or alcohol addiction. Within the program, individuals were supported in pursuing a full recovery from their addictions and in creating restorative justice to their community.
While participants were in the EDTCRC program, Equinox Therapeutic’s services were funded by EDTCRC. Once they graduated, however, they were no longer able to access these therapy funds as they continued to work on creating their new life.
Equinox Therapeutic’s Walk On program was created so that any graduated EDTCRC participant could continue to access therapy services at a “pay-what-you-can” rate.
